Coronavirus (nCoV)
At the time that this newsletter is being sent, there are no confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (nCoV) in Bali. However, Dyatmika has a well-developed response to guard the wellbeing of students and staff if things change. We are coordinating with other SPK schools to plan health and safety precautions.
News from EYP & Primary – 7 February

Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11 February 2020. It is now a worldwide initiative which was originally started in 2004 in Europe, to promote safer and better usage of the internet.
Dyatmika’s Third Annual Science Fair 2020
Saturday 1 Feb 2020 was a big weekend for Science at Dyatmika. Thirteen teams of aspiring young scientists from six different schools in Bali competed in our annual Science Fair.

Term 3 is well underway and so much has happened.
Welcome Back for Term 3!
We are very excited to have now moved into our two large, new Music classrooms, complete with soundproof practice rooms. Thank you to the PTFA for purchasing recording equipment which will be installed soon.
Class 6 Reading Buddies
On 2 December 2019, Class 6 students had an interesting event – Reading Buddies with Class 2.
Class 6 and the Sunflowers
On Tuesday, 14 January and Thursday, 16 January, Class 6 went to the Community Garden to collect data about sunflowers.
Sampah Puppet Workshop
On 13 January, Class 6 skipped period three and four to go to an exciting event: puppet-making.
East Bali Poverty Project Visit (EBPP)
Class 7 and 8 Tunjung homeroom visited the East Bali Poverty Project’s (EBPP) Cegi and Pengalusan schools for what is the start of a collaboration in a language and culture exchange between the schools.
Careers Corner: Study Liberal Arts and Sciences
For those students who do not wish to confine themselves to one subject area at university and are looking for a more holistic type of education a Liberal Arts and Science programme could be a great option.
Updates from Dyatmika Executive Student Council 2019/2020
Last month on 10-11 December, we carried out our giving initiative, Project Kasih. With the help of the charitable donations by all parents, the Christmas Carol event at High School and the spirit of giving by students across all ages, we were able to raise over 18 million Rupiah for Panti Asuhan Salam, Eben Haezer and give school equipment and requested donations to each orphanage.
