Early Childhood

The Dyatmika Early Years Programme is active, fun and child-centred. Early Years students are guided through rich learning tasks designed around thematic units. Activities are designed to foster:

– social and emotional skills
– fine and gross motor skills
– intellectual development

Each class is supported by highly skilled and experienced bilingual teachers and full-time teaching assistants, who use a holistic approach that encourages the development of language for young learners in both Indonesian and English. The ratio of children to teachers allows for the development of quality relationships.

Nicholas Bridges
International Head of Primary School

Greetings and welcome to Dyatmika’s early childhood department, where some of the youngest and some of the most experienced members of our community begin forging their relationships and shaping young futures.

The educators at Dyatmika develop a deep connection with their students, which allows our early learners to initiate positive and sustainable attitudes towards themselves and the unchartered world of which one day these learners will come to inherit.

The Early Years Programme at Dyatmika continues to consociate closely with the Primary School, ensuring that Dyatmika’s most inquisitive learners are given a continuous passage all the way through to their graduation.

Playgroup (PG)

This is where the learning journey begins and we understand the best way for 3 year olds to learn is through purposeful play. Students learn pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills and discover their world through play, movement, music, art and craft. Students benefit from weekly visits to the library where they learn to borrow books and develop a love of reading.

  • explore and express their creativity
  • develop effective communication skills

Kindergarten (TK)

The programme in TK is delivered by two bilingual Early Years teachers who are supported by two bilingual teaching assistants, all of whom are supported by the international Early Years Coordinator. The English component uses the fun and engaging Jolly Phonics literacy programme, designed to give children foundation skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.
