Ibu Novi’s passing last Sunday will affect us all at Dyatmika for a long time to come. She was a member of the Dyatmika family for 8 years, working in Top Office in HR. More than that though, she was a sincere friend to many. In talking with people this week, an overwhelming comment has been about Ibu Novi’s delightful and really quick sense of humour. She knew how to tease and could be teased in return. Her Admin colleagues describe her as professional, supportive and easy to be friends with. Parents and students knew her as being always cheerful and helpful. She was also an intelligent
and positive person with a truly kind heart.

For International teachers, Ibu Novi was the person who they first met via email before they even arrived in Indonesia. As someone who spent some time in her youth in Australia, she understood the needs of people who were coming to live in another place. She also supported National teachers and other staff, some of whom knew her from High School years. Ibu Novi was endlessly patient and generous in providing advice and answering questions.

We would like to thank members of the Dyatmika community who have shown great compassion during this time. Admin and other staff supported Ibu Novi herself during her last days and have continued to be strong and make arrangements following her passing.

Thank you too, PTFA, for visiting the family and arranging a collection. Finally, we are grateful for all Dyatmika staff who have donated generously, attended the funeral and expressed their admiration and affection for Ibu Novi in many ways.

Our thoughts are with Ibu Novi’s family.

Today at Dyatmika we have worn white and accessorised our outfits, as Ibu Novi always did, as a collective act of respect and remembrance. Rest In Peace, Ibu Ida Ayu Novitawati, we will miss you!
