13 Dyatmika students from Class 8 to 10 participated as delegates in the Sekolah Ciputra Model United Nations (SCMUN) Conference on 1-2 Feb 2020. The students’ hard work and preparation in the previous few months resulted in a great overall experience throughout the conference. Along with many delegates coming from various schools across Java, Bali and Lombok, our students were actively involved in discussions and debates in an effort to resolve a wide variety of global issues, these included the conflict over access of oil and natural gas resources, the negative environmental effects caused by wars and security conflicts, the way to effectively reduce and recycle plastics among countries and the optimal trade regulations between countries on plastic waste distribution.
For many of them, SCMUN was their first experience participating in a MUN conference. The SCMUN became a platform for the students to prepare for the upcoming big MUN hosting year in Dyatmika, The first ever DyatMUN conference will be held on 9-10 April 2020 and the increasingly popular annual BaliMUN conference will happen in early November 2020.
