Welcome to the new academic year at Dyatmika everyone. Whilst we find ourselves again at the mercy of our laptops and other devices, let us all be reassured that we can count on each other’s support and care during this crucial period as we move towards a time where we can welcome our students back on campus.

We have welcomed some new staff members to our EYP/Primary family. Ibu Mira and Ibu Wisma have started their work as Teaching Assistants in Playgroup, collectively bringing with them a wealth of experience in early years education. We also have welcomed Ibu Octa, as the new Art and Design teacher for years Primary Prep to Class 7 and we look forward to working with her. Finally, we have electronically welcomed Ibu Ali as the international teacher for Classes 4 and 5. The computer screen seems to have made little difference to the way that Ibu Ali has already made important connections with the students, parents and the staff and we cannot wait for the day that we get to speak with her in person. We hope that is not too far away.

Whilst HBL continues to form the basis of education around the world at the moment, we do hope that by listening and actioning improvements, we can make a difference to the learning of each and every student. I was really pleased to see so many parents joining our first Friday Feedback Forum last week and this has given us more useful information about what is working and what could be improved.

Despite the beginning of the year not looking like we all planned or had hoped for, let’s remember to keep safe, wash our hands, do all the right things, wear our masks so that we can begin to enjoy some time together very soon.
