Dear Parents and Guardians,
Throughout HBL the library is continuing to provide services. Students have access to books and other reading materials to support their literacy development and maintain a love of reading.
While for the first couple of weeks of school the service has been available every working day, the new restriction on staff presence on campus has brought about a few changes. During this period, books can only be picked up and returned on Fridays between 8 AM to 3 PM. All book borrowing requests must be submitted using the form by Wednesday 5 PM every week to allow time for our library staff to prepare the books for pick-up.
On our library website, accessible through Engage and students’ Google Classrooms, you will find a link to a request form to borrow physical books from the library. Please read the procedure for borrowing and returning books on the form before making a request. We have also provided a video to help guide you through the steps.
We highly encourage students to read physical books whenever they can to add to a list of off-screen activities that students can engage in throughout HBL.
Through the website, you can also access the school library’s catalog to see the wide range and variety of over 12,000 books we have available. This video will guide you through searching for and selecting just-right books for your child/ren.
You are also welcome to explore the rest of the website and the resources that our library team has put together to support your child’s home-based learning. We are currently in the process of revamping our online resources collection and will keep you updated on access to e-book collections.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us at library@dyatmika.org.
