Class 7 and 8 Tunjung homeroom visited the East Bali Poverty Project’s (EBPP) Cegi and Pengalusan schools for what is the start of a collaboration in a language and culture exchange between the schools.

After a presentation from David Booth, the founder of EBPP, they joined the students at Cegi school. The students from Dyatmika presented an English language game using Jenga blocks, something they developed and tested during homeroom. Later in the day, the students at Pengalusan school provided lessons in bamboo weaving and traditional Balinese dance. The Volcano Band give a special performance of their song, “Stop Sexual Harassment”.

Before returning to school, there was one final stop to test drive the bamboo bicycles, handmade in the area to support the local economy.
