Dear Parents and Friends,
Firstly, we’d like to start off by saying thank you to Chelsea, who has tirelessly worked as a Class 7 Public Relations Representative for the Student Council, over the first semester, with her counterpart Neva. She has moved to Australia during the semester break and we would like to wish her the best of luck!
Late last year, the student council set up the first ever Christmas in-school event for the High School students. Held on 14 December, this event allowed students from Class 6 to Class 12 to order gifts such as Christmas cookies, cupcakes and cards. Alongside that, we had Christmas carols consisting of 3 different student bands, also available for gifting, which could be heard around the school as classrooms opened their windows, following a power outage.
The students and teachers enjoyed the event, although some orders did not enter the system correctly and those students could not receive their gifts. But we have learned from the experience gathered at this event and after improvements over the Christmas spreadsheet, we expect a lot more orders at our upcoming Valentine’s Day event.
