Last week around 40 parents of students in Classes 9 to 12 joined me in the School Library to learn more about Bridge-U, the new online careers and university platform that their children now have personalised access to. One of the benefits of this system is that parents are also provided with their own access to their child’s dashboard so they can support the often complex decisions that have to be made around future education courses and destinations.
Our students have many doors in many countries open to them; this is exciting, but can also make finding the best academic, social and financial fit quite overwhelming in today’s ever-expanding international education marketplace. Bridge-U supports families in finding appropriate courses given a student’s individual criteria and also allows students to start collecting a record of their achievements in and out of the classroom right from Class 9. This will make tackling the dreaded personal statements and university application letters a far easier task in future years. Teachers are also able to view this information when writing recommendation letters allowing them to more easily access the evidence needed to write really focused and data-driven references. If you were unable to attend the event but would like access to the presentation, it is now available through the HS Parent Portal on Engage – under General Documents.
