Social distancing – What is it?
Simply put, social distancing means that people stay far enough away from each other so that COVID-19 cannot spread as easily from one person to another.
How do I do this?
Outside your home:
Stay 2 metres away from other people
Don’t shake hands or touch others
Don’t attend mass events
Stay away from people who are sick
President Jokowi has asked that everybody practises social distancing. He said, “Under the current conditions, it’s time for us to work from home, study from home and worship at home.” (Source)
Preparing
Consider having the following at home:
Basic medical supplies, including over-the-counter medications to alleviate possible symptoms such as fever, aches and dry coughs
Medicines for fever, congestion, and cough are recommended
Prescription medications
Cleaning and hygiene supplies include soaps for handwashing, and disinfectants to keep surfaces clean
STAY ACTIVE, STAY HEALTHY
At this time it is more important than ever to stay active. Daily physical activity will have significant benefits on both your physical and mental health during this time, and it should become a regular part of your daily routine. For parents, it is a great opportunity to find out what your children are learning in PE, as well as an opportunity to join them and keep yourselves happy and healthy.
The good news is that all of you have everything you need to get moving and keep learning at home. You already have all of the skills, tools and knowledge you need to keep your body and mind healthy. The PE department will be posting a ‘Daily Activity Challenge’ to your Google Classrooms, to help motivate you and we hope that as many students (and parents) as possible will take part.
Playgroup – Primary Prep | Weekly activity suggestions and ideas for parents. |
Class 1 – Class 5 | Daily Activity Challenge |
Class 6 – Class 9 | Daily Activity Challenge |
As always in PE, a bit of friendly competition helps us push ourselves even further. At the end of each week we will be announcing the class who has participated most actively in the challenge. To help your class win this award, all you need to do is have a go at the Daily Activity Challenge and complete the assignment in your Google Classroom.
If you have any questions about any of the challenges, please post in your Google Classroom and a PE teacher will help you. We hope you all enjoy the challenges ahead and take this opportunity to keep your bodies healthy, your minds active and you stay happy.
HYGIENE
It is important to keep up good habits to stay healthy. Remember the following:
