It’s been a great term of rock n roll rehearsals for We Will Rock You!
A reminder that the annual UWRF takes place in Ubud on 23 to 27 October 2019.
This term we have been preparing for the launch of Accelerated Reader. Accelerated Reader is a reading programme designed to identify students’ reading ages; their key strengths in reading, and significant areas for improvement in their reading skills.
The first term has flown by and as we approach the holiday, let’s reflect on a wonderful term.
As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and friends of Dyatmika for their support, both when things are running smoothly and during the occasional challenging times. A great deal of what we do in our school cannot be achieved without you!
The school regularly undertakes emergency drills to make sure that everybody follows Dyatmika’s detailed safety procedures.
This week in Playgroup, we learnt about safety at school, both in and out of the classroom.
This September, 18 students and 3 members of staff travelled to Malaysia for a Biology field trip. We first had a one-day stopover in KL before setting off for the Bornean rainforest. In KL we visited the Sri Mahamariamman temple, the Petronas Towers and Petaling Street market.
This year, Dyatmika School is further developing the House system and student leadership skill.

An impressive attitude towards learning by our Class 10, 11 and 12 students in 2018-19 has been rewarded with fantastic results from the IGCSE, AS and A Level exams.
All 54 students from Class 6 went on camp for two days and one night on 22-23 August 2019.
Camp has always been an exciting experience for students and this year Dyatmika’s Class 11 and 12 students participated in the Senior Camp at Baliwoso, Bangli on 15 – 16 August.
Our wider reading focus will continue this year, with each department having a monthly focus to promote a subject related reading list, key word and book of the month.
Our students are donning their leather jackets, quiffing their hair and getting ready to rock the Dyatmika community in December with our school production of the famous musical play, We Will Rock You, featuring the hits of Queen and based on the book by Ben Elton.
