Jonathan has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Bath (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education (Honours) from the University of Exeter (UK). With a career spanning almost 30 years so far, he began his teaching career in the UK and then moved overseas to pursue teaching and leadership opportunities at prestigious international schools in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

In his spare time, Jonathan likes to lead an active and varied lifestyle with a range of interests. He enjoys surfing, cycling, tennis and swimming. Jon also enjoys listening to music and playing the guitar.

Nicholas has a masters degree in Educational Leadership and Management, a post graduate certificate of education in Primary education, a post graduate certificate of education in special educational needs and an academic background in child psychology. He began his teaching career within the British state school system, beginning at an inner city school in East London, then moving to Venezuela to teach internationally. He has always strived to provide his students with the chance of a better future than they ever felt was possible.

During his spare time, Nicholas continues to explore regions of Indonesia as well as trying to stay active and healthy, through various sports, hiking and surfing. He is continuing to learn Indonesian and has a good understanding of Spanish, from his time in South America.

Ibu Ayu joined Dyatmika School as a teacher when it first opened and was appointed as National Head of Primary and Early Years at Dyatmika in 2007.

Ibu Ayu has pioneered the Indonesian Children’s Literacy program at the Dyatmika School and often provides training to kindergarten and primary school teachers in Bali and its surroundings. In line with Dyatmika’s mission of being a role model school, Ibu Ayu has also led and presented reading programs at universities and other educational institutions in Indonesia as well as providing training on children’s books to Papua teachers. Ibu Ayu is the editor of an Indonesian children’s book and an author: one of the interactive storybooks she wrote was selected by an organisation called ‘Room to Read’ as a library reading book throughout Indonesia. She has also won competitions as an essay writer and continues to write reading books for children in Bahasa.

Ibu Ayu is dedicated to the success of Dyatmika school, as her many contributions over the years have shown. She is also passionate about promoting ‘Literacy for a better world’ for all children studying in Indonesia.

He has been able to achieve this due to his acute understanding of the needs of his students and his ability to lead by example. He is most proud of the attitude to learning that students show on a day to day basis, developed through a team of teachers with outstanding attitude to their continual professional development.

Jon has a BSc in Finance, and a PostGraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Bristol. JonC has also successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship from UCL, London. Pak Jon is committed to result-driven academic excellence and believes in the symbiotic integration of students’ learning and their cultural environment. Bali has been his home for over a decade and his essence as a school leader has been centred around this wholesome approach; reflected in his work towards Dyatmika’s Learner Profile.

Jon enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He also likes to travel, and in his spare time, he is a keen cyclist and surfer.

Pak Ketut gained his Master’s Degree in Education from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) in Singaraja and gained his Degree in pure Physics from Airlangga University Surabaya, one of the best universities in Indonesia. Upon graduating he began his teaching career in Surabaya before moving to Bali to work as a lecturer before he joined Sekolah Dyatmika.

Outside of school, he is very active in the community and in his spare time enjoys various different sports such as football, swimming and cycling.

She strongly believes that the establishment of positive relationships between all members of the community at the school maintains and promotes motivation in the teaching and learning process for both teachers and students.

Outside of school, Ibu Ami enjoys cooking, swimming, and reading. She also loves to take her kids to explore various outdoor activities. But the most precious moment for her is to get together in the comfort of the living room to just listen to her children’s stories.

Ibu Agnes graduated in Physics Education at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta . She began her career as a Junior High School Teacher in Jakarta, before joining Dyatmika. Ibu Agnes enjoys opportunities to develop professionally and a highlight was joining a teacher exchange program in Melbourne Australia.

Ibu Agnes enjoys listening to music, singing, and watching movies. She also likes cooking and especially trying new recipes.

In 2012 Pak Agus continued his studies by obtaining a Teacher Professional Education scholarship before commencing his career as an Economics teacher at Dyatmika School. He is very proud to be a part of Dyatmika School and its amazing community. As a teacher, Pak Agus believes that anything can be learned if we are open to being adaptable.

Ibu Ali has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Geography, a Masters Degree in Marine Environmental Protection and a postgraduate certificate of education. She qualified as a teacher in 2004 and has since taught primary-aged children from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of learning needs both in the UK and in Vietnam. Ibu Ali has also mentored student teachers wishing to join the teaching profession.

Ibu Ali enjoys activities that involve being on or in the water and has finally achieved a lifelong ambition to become a qualified diver since arriving in Bali. Travel is also a passion and she has been lucky enough to visit more than 30 countries around the world so far. Ali also enjoys walks on the beach with her adopted Bali dog, Bonnie, walking the rescue dogs at Bali Animal Welfare Association, trying new food and continues to try her best to learn Bahasa Indonesia.

Ben has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature from King’s College London (UK). Ben started teaching over a decade ago in East London, where he worked successfully towards providing all children access to a high quality education, regardless of their background. He taught at several schools in London, as well as providing early literature training for other professionals. During his career so far, Ben has taught every year group from playgroup to class 5.

Ben enjoys playing football and learning languages. He plays the bass guitar and occasionally records and performs music. Ben is currently learning how to paint.

Over the past decade of teaching, Pak Ben has taught in schools in Cornwall, England and Indonesia. Since 2015, he has been teaching IGCSEs and A Levels in ICT/Computer Science, Business and PE in Lombok. He was also the Vice Principal during his time in Lombok and has a proven track record for improving results, driving schools forward as well as nurturing the wellbeing of students.

Pak Ben is a keen runner and surfer but enjoys all sports, and played football to a high standard in Northern Ireland before he left to attend university.

Ibu Caz enjoys all aspects of music, whether performing, composing or listening. Ibu Caz plays the viola and the piano, and in the UK she was principal viola of a leading regional orchestra. Since 2015, Ibu Caz has worked as a grade examiner for the ABRSM. She is a published composer, whose songs based on famous poetry from the First World War have been performed by choirs internationally, and commissioned for large commemorative concerts. Ibu Caz loves working with students on their musical journey. Her aim is for all her students to enjoy music, whatever their musical background or level of ability, and to help them to reach their potential.

Outside of work, Ibu Caz is looking forward to getting to know the culture, language and cuisine of Bali. She enjoys playing music, going to the beach, bodyboarding, swimming and spending time with the family. Her three daughters attend Dyatmika High School.

Her educational philosophy is very student centered with the view that all students are capable of being creative and can express themselves as artists. In her classroom, she provides students opportunities to create and solve artistic problems and to develop their own ideas independently in an environment where students feel at ease to take creative risks. She is very proud of the artwork created by Dyatmika students and often shares this in the art instagram account. This year, she hosted the first (post Covid) Dyatmika art exhibition at Komaneka gallery. She often organises art trips and workshops for art students to experience working alongside professional artists and to see art first hand in a gallery setting.

When not at school, Ibu Claire enjoys creating her own art in the form of portrait paintings using mixed media and oil paint. She also enjoys learning about new technology and is currently completing an online course in digital drawing. She is keen to participate in local art workshops to further develop her artistic knowledge and practical skills.

Her professional life began as the secretary of the Director of the Institute of Tropical Disease, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya. While working as a secretary, she also volunteered to teach children in her neighbourhood area in collaboration with the Surabaya government. During that teaching period, Clara found that teaching children moral values helped build positive characters in the future. From this belief, she decided to be a teacher in Dyatmika and has not looked back ever since!

In her spare time, Clara enjoys listening to music, watching movies and cooking.

Ibu Dayu is a graduate of Teacher Education from the IKIP PGRI University Denpasar (Bali). Before commencing her career at Dyatmika School, initially as one of the administrative staff.

Ibu Dayu tries to stay active through Zumba, playing with her children and spending time with her husband and family. She also enjoys listening to music and cooking.

Ibu Dinia holds a Masters Degree in 2022 from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. She has participated in some unique and engaging educational communities at multiple grade levels with a diverse student population. She believes every child brings his/her own great and unique potential.

Ibu Dinia loves to spend her leisure time reading books and cooking. She is enjoying her new role as a wife and a community member of her new home, Klungkung.

Elizabeth started her career at Dyatmika as an English teacher for National curriculum and a Bahasa Indonesia teacher for Cambridge programmes. She has witnessed the growth of this beautiful school and its talented students. She cherishes the creative language projects that her students have produced in the form of short stories, poems, short movies, posters, essays, advertisements and many more. Elizabeth has a passion for writing and some of her pieces have won awards from Radar Bali Literary Awards (a poem), PT Rohto Laboratories Indonesia (a short story), Femina magazine (an essay), and Wanita Penulis Indonesia cab, Bali (a monologue). However, the proudest moments for her are when her students demonstrate improvements in their language proficiency and empower themselves as learners.

Her downtime includes drawing, listening to good music, sewing or simply strolling down the beach around Sanur then swimming with her pug – sometimes with her husband as well.

Ibu Erni Hastuti graduated from English Language Education of Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta. Over the course of her 18 years teaching experience, Erni has been fortunate to gain experience working with Foundation/Key stage 1 and 2 children and staff teams in a variety of schools. She began her teaching career as a teacher assistant in Yogyakarta International School before joining the Teachers Exchange Program funded by Australia Indonesia Institute. This gave her the opportunity to improve teaching skills and the development of curricula at five Australian primary schools, located in the South West region of Western Australia.

Ibu Erni loves literature and stories, especially children’s books. Ibu Erni Hastuti has written her own children’s books for Unicef, Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation and Room to Read. During her spare time, Erni likes to be active and healthy, through swimming and exercise. She enjoys learning about other cultures and languages and is currently exploring the Korean language and its culture.

In his spare time, Pak George is normally found on his bicycle or playing football. He also loves going travelling and exploring new places.

Prior to joining Dyatmika, Hana taught in another international school in Bali. She actively pursues professional development opportunities and a highlight was being one of the speakers at an educational seminar held in Bali.

Hana loves to read and write stories and poems. She is one of the authors of a collection of short stories entitled “I’m (Not) Okay” and a book of poetry entitled “Buku Untuk Dibaca di Kafe Kopi”. She also writes stories to be read on one of Papua’s radio stations. Besides that, Hana enjoys singing, playing the guitar and watching horror series.

Her interest in teaching was sparked whilst teaching undergraduate students at the University of Manchester whilst working towards a PhD in Structural Fire Engineering. She realised that she much preferred the teaching over the research so decided to step away to retrain as a High School Mathematics teacher. Ibu Helen has a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering with Architecture (1st Class with Honours) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Mathematics), both from the University of Manchester.

When not at school Ibu Helen loves travelling, walking and eating in equal measure. She usually tries to combine these passions during the school holidays and can often be found sampling the local cuisine after a long walk in a new city, both in Indonesia and beyond. She especially loves visiting new places in Indonesia, so far she has visited 14 provinces and is looking forward to seeing more.

Originally from Bali, Ibu Hindira graduated from English Language Education at Undiksha University in Singaraja, Bali. She worked as a teacher in National Primary schools and as a private English teacher for adults and children before joining Dyatmika.

Ibu Hindira loves listening to music and writing stories for children. She has written two books for children in Papua Barat, which cooperated with UNICEF and LAI (Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation). Hindira loves her family, especially spending time with her son and daughter.

His career at Dyatmika started as an IT Teacher and has since taken on further responsibilities such as being a homeroom leader and a head of house. Prior to starting his career at Dyatmika, he volunteered as a teacher for people with special needs under a social foundation in his hometown.

Pak Gede is a badminton addict who will love anything about it including re-watching any recorded professional match. During his spare time, he plays badminton at least once a week. He also enjoys listening to music and podcasts, exploring and gardening.

Pak Dika believes that effective learning comes from a teaching method which allows students to take ownership of their own learning. He also highlights the importance of reading for pleasure in students’ language development.

Pak Dika enjoys cycling, reading and walking his dog. His favourite writers include George Orwell, Dan Brown and J.K. Rowling.

Pak Renga is an alumnus of the School of Teacher Training (the State University) in Singaraja (STKIP Singaraja), North Bali and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching. He has also had the opportunity to conduct a teacher exchange program to Australia twice: Melbourne in 2007 and Perth in 2018.

Before working as a teacher at Dyatmika, Pak Renga worked as a tour guide in Bali for over 5 years. He likes travelling, adventure and sports. He loves physical exercise, such as mountain climbing, cycling, playing badminton and tennis. Until now he is active in the tennis club and plays tennis twice a week to maintain his fitness

Ibu Mani is proud to see how Dyatmika school has dealt with the adversities that have come about due to the pandemic. In the classroom, Ibu Mani aims to facilitate student led, dynamic learning. She hopes to nourish curiosity and love for the subject in all her students as well as independence of thought.

Ibu Mani moved to Bali with her husband Pak Max, who is Dyatmika’s University and Careers Counsellor, and their two children. She is an avid reader and spends her spare time with her family and friends, staying active, exploring and enjoying the varied and healthy lifestyle beautiful Bali has to offer.

Irvandi is an experienced Music teacher, having taught across a wide selection of all Primary levels. He has taught at various schools in Jakarta, Bekasi, and Sumatra, before moving to teach at Dyatmika School in Bali. Irvandi’s music lessons promote a student-centred approach that encourages participation and enjoyment through practical experience.

Outside of teaching, Pak Irvandi, his wife and his twin boys enjoy the beach, swimming together, going to restaurants near the house, and eating their favourite food, Bakso.

Pak John chose the teaching profession as he strongly believes in the power of education to transform lives. It is this moral purpose that motivates him in his day to day life. Pak John believes that strong, collaborative relationships lead to the best learning and so Dyatmika has proved to be the perfect place to work. A culture of inclusion and support makes every day a pleasure. John fully embraces the idea of lifelong learning and is currently completing the NPQSL qualification for senior leadership.

When not working Pak John tries to take full advantage of Island life. He enjoys cycling in the mountains, running by the ocean or spending time with his family and friends on the beach in Sanur.

John offers a friendly, supportive and structured classroom environment where students can realise their full potential. Outside of school, John enjoys the relaxed Bali lifestyle and can often be found at the local coffee shops and warungs.

Following her role as a private tutor to primary and secondary age students, Ibu Ary gained her teaching qualification from the Dwijendra University, Bali, and joined Dyatmika School thereafter. A committed teacher, she values the positive atmosphere and relationships within the school, which she firmly believes enhances the learning experiences of the students and enables them to achieve their best.

Ibu Ary is committed to her full home life, and in her spare time enjoys gardening, reading, and listening to music. She also enjoys every opportunity to travel.

Ibu Nina holds a Master’s Degree in English Education from Ganesha University of Education, Singaraja. She began her career as a substitute national teacher, teaching Maths, Bahasa and Science. She has also worked as a Class Teacher, a Teaching Assistant and an English Tutor, prior to joining Dyatmika.
Ibu Nina loves reading books, travelling and being a Mother to her son. She enjoys learning new skills especially to do with learning about parenting, teaching and studying new languages.

Ibu Kadek has a Masters in Science Education and a Bachelor of Chemistry Education from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). During her Master’s Degree, she had the opportunity to attend international seminars and succeeded in publishing three research articles. The articles deal with development of chemistry textbooks, multiple representations, critical thinking, and mind maps.

In her spare time, Ibu Kadek likes to visit her hometown in Gianyar with her family. She also enjoys cooking and listening to music.

After spending two years living and teaching in Sarawak, East Malaysia on the island of Borneo where her daughter was born, she made the move to Indonesia, and fell in love with its warm climate, beautiful scenery, friendly people and relaxed lifestyle.

Ibu Karen prides herself on creating and maintaining learning environments that are supportive, safe and fun while also providing inspiring, relevant and appropriately challenged learning experiences that ultimately produce happy, confident and independent life-long learners who love to read.

Outside of school, Ibu Karen has a love of travelling to new places. She has visited over 52 different countries and takes pleasure in learning about different cultures and the history of the countries she has visited, along with trying new cuisine. When at home, Ibu Karen also enjoys swimming, tennis and regular gym visits along with a good book. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter who has the same love of reading, and their five cats and two rescue dogs.

Pak Kev’s passion for History began when he himself was at school, and was nurtured further whilst completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) in History, followed by a PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He has also successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship at the Institute of Education, University College London.

In his spare time, Pak Kev enjoys playing and watching tennis and football, and is an avid supporter of Liverpool F.C. He also enjoys cooking, playing guitar, and has a passion for travel.

In 2007, Pak Laurence was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Aberdeen. Spending a year working and living in Kyoto, Japan as an English teacher was a transformative experience and illuminated a great enjoyment and interest in teaching and working with young learners. Subsequently, he returned to Scotland and completed his PGDE at the University of Strathclyde.

In his leisure time, Pak Laurence enjoys traveling and learning about the world. He tries to remain active by running, hiking, mountain biking and learning to surf. He is passionate about music and is a keen drummer.

Ibu Lindsay is an experienced graduate with a First Class BSc(Hons) in Biomedical Science (with Forensics) from Manchester Metropolitan University; a PGCE in Science from Nottingham University, as well as having achieved the National Professional Qualification of Senior Leadership (NPQSL) for education. She has worked professionally within the pharmaceutical industry, and clinically within hospital settings prior to her career in education. Ibu Lindsay has worked actively within the University of Sussex and University of Brighton for many years (prior to Dyatmika) focusing on the recruitment, training and assessment of new teachers.

In her free time, Ibu Lindsay enjoys an active lifestyle which includes playing AFL for the Bali Geckos; early morning F45 challenges; lots of social adventures and traveling when possible. She also enjoys surfing (badly) and watching far too many sports (UFC, Rugby, AFL, Football – to name a few). She also enjoys live music and can often be found at concert venues all over the UK when she is back during the holidays.

Dewi graduated from English Language Education of Undiksha University in Singaraja (Bali). With a career spanning 20 years so far, she began her teaching career as a teacher assistant in Kennington Primary School in Bendigo – Victoria, then taught early years students in Taman Rama Kindergarten, Denpasar Bali.

Writing children’s story books is a passion that also contributes to her success as a teacher. She feels privileged to have had opportunities to write books for Unicef, Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation, Literacy Cloud and let’s read – The Asia Foundation. One of her books won the grand prize of The Samsung KidsTime Authors’ Award in 2016. During her spare time, Dewi likes listening to music, reading and lives her life as a Balinese community member in the village.

Ibu Lusia graduated from English Language Education of Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta in 2002, and began teaching as a teacher assistant at Yogyakarta International School. Besides teaching in formal school settings, she has also worked as an instructor of an English language course where she taught English to children and adults.

Ibu Lusia enjoys spending her free time reading and singing. Her interest in reading has inspired her to write children’s books for Unicef and Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation. She is part of a choir and enjoys practising singing techniques and skills, meeting new people from different backgrounds and learning more about music in a fun way.

Ibu Made enjoys teaching and working with students and loves many different types of sports. She was one of the martial arts athletes selected to represent Indonesia in the SEA games before she injured her ankle. She still does some martial arts coaching and plays futsal every week. In her spare time, Ibu Made likes to explore nature with her family and friends, hiking, climbing and camping. She also enjoys music, she plays guitar and drums. She was the drummer of the one and only girl band in Bali during her school time. Those skills and interests are used to coach pencak silat club in school, and get involved in Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and the teacher’s band!

Ibu Yani believes that each student is unique and endeavours to create a cheerful, conducive learning environment for her students. She has also undertaken training for teaching Indonesian as a second language to help her excel in her role.

Yani loves stories and wrote two children’s books during her studies at university. As for her love of language, she is learning Korean through music and movies in her spare time. Above all, the thing that she likes the most is telling stories to her son and daughter.

An experienced educator, Pak Max completed his Masters in Teaching and Learning in 2012 with a focus on cross-curricular learning experiences. As a teacher, he attempts to bring the learning experience to life in the classroom and enjoys the privilege of working in a school every day. After developing his middle leadership experience in his previous post, Pak Max has taken up his current role in which he has the pleasure of working with class 12 and 13 students on their career pathways and university applications. Dyatmika students are quite remarkable, and discovering their many talents and achievements outside of the academic context is the thing that he enjoys most about his job.

Outside of work Pak Max enjoys all sports and outdoor activities, from football to chasing Pak JonCon and Pak Jon C up the Balinese mountains on a bike. He lives in Sanur with his wife, Ibu Mani, who teaches English, and his two sons who also attend Dyatmika Primary school.

Ibu Melissa has enjoyed a successful career for over 20 years, having taught every age group from Nursery to Year 6 in British and International schools in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. She also has experience in providing Special Needs interventions and delivering English as an Additional Language (EAL). Ibu Melissa holds a Masters Degree in International Education from the University of Sunderland, UK and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) alongside teaching qualifications from her home country, the Philippines. Ibu Melissa has also held various positions of leadership in different schools, including being a member of the Primary Senior Leadership Team in her previous school. An advocate of educational leadership, Ibu Melissa is committed to life-long learning and collegial collaboration. She enjoys participating and presenting in educational conferences and has mentored colleagues as well as teacher trainees from Malaysian and Australian universities over the years.

Ibu Melissa’s other interests include reading, travelling, learning about different cultures and languages, and dancing!

Ibu Nadine began her English teaching career at an inner-city all girls school in London, where she progressed to KS3 Coordinator, curating and delivering a curriculum in line with her educational ethos: encouraging students to have high expectations; providing creative opportunities and instilling a love of reading and writing for pleasure. Highlights of her teaching career include: working with authors to publish anthologies of student writing; holding Duke of Edinburgh leader and assessor certification, bringing Ubud Writers and Readers Festival and The Handlebards (travelling Shakespeare group) to Dyatmika

Ibu Nadine enjoys Bali-life with her husband and young daughter – travelling, yoga, and salsa dancing whenever possible.

Ibu Pami holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Education from Ganesha University of Education in Buleleng, Bali, having graduated in 2019. During university, she took part in many students’ organisations and student’s programs in collaboration with Simmon College from Boston, USA. Furthermore, Pami also joined early years teaching programs that were conducted in small villages in Buleleng. These experiences inspired her to commence work as a Teaching Assistant in Dyatmika.

Ibu Pami enjoys art and craft activities including sewing, makeup, drawing and making accessories. Besides art and craft, she also enjoys reading books, travelling and cuddling her pets at home.

After graduation, Ibu Fitria joined Dyatmika School as a Laboratory Assistant and enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the school and the curriculum. Ibu Fitria is now teaching Science and helping other teachers with practical lessons. She enjoys teaching Science and believes that students learn more about Science if they are able to experience practical activities and experiments.

In her spare time, Ibu Fitria likes to watch movies or dramas. That is one of the ways she also learns English. She also likes to try new foods, especially street food snacks.

Ibu Suniyasih graduated from Ganesha University of Education in 2020. She holds an English Education Bachelor’s Degree. She began her career as a translator and a private English tutor before joining Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant.

Ibu Suniyasih enjoys reading books about psychology, life, and romance. She loves listening to music, watching movies, colouring, cooking and going to the beach.

Ibu Yasni graduated with a Diploma of Kindergarten Teacher Education from PGRI University, Denpasar (Bali). She then continued her studies and received a Bachelor’s of Counselling from IKIP PGRI University Denpasar. Following this, Ibu Yasni began her career at Dyatmika School as a Playgroup Teaching Assistant.

Ibu Yasni tries to stay active by doing Zumba and cycling in her spare time. She also likes listening to music and cooking.

Ibu Sulis has a Diploma in Japanese Language, a Bachelor of English Literature from Udayana University and a Bachelor of Early Years Education Program from Universitas Terbuka Denpasar. Her teaching career started as a Japanese teacher in SMAN 6 Denpasar. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant in Sunrise International School at Kerobokan for 6 years. Her career in Sekolah Dyatmika began as a substitute Teacher of EYP, Primary 1 and 2, before becoming a Primary class teacher.

In her spare time, she likes reading, listening to music, cleaning and doing simple exercise.

Duwi graduated from Ganesha University of Education in Singaraja, Bali and holds a Master’s Degree in English Education in 2018. Before joining Dyatmika, she worked as an Admission’s officer in other schools and was also an English tutor. A career highlight so far was being a presenter at a combined international conference where her paper was also published in an accredited journal.

During her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, reading books and listening to podcasts. At the moment, she is trying her best to focus on her new role as the mother of a baby girl and continue her role as a balinese woman as well.

Ibu Alit gained an Associate Degree, majoring in Primary School Teacher Education, before gaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Indonesian Education from Mahasaraswati University (Bali).

During her spare time, Ibu Alit likes cooking either Indonesian or Western food, finding the recipes on Youtube. She enjoys spending the weekends with her family.

Ibu Putu likes traveling when she has the opportunity, and loves to learn the unique traditions of a location, and their local customs.

Ebi has a Masters Degree in English Language Education from Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) in Singaraja, Bali. Her interest in young children began when she became a researcher for her thesis in a bilingual school in North Bali and so she joined Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant, before moving into a teaching position.

Being one of speakers in the 11th annual CamTESOL conference in Cambodia was one of the most valuable experiences so far in her teaching career. During her spare time, Ebi likes to watch TV, cook and enjoys her role as a wife and a mother at the same time.

Ibu Wisma holds a Master’s Degree in English Language Education from Ganesha University of Education, Bali. Prior to joining Dyatmika, Ibu wisma worked as a teacher in a national-based private school.

Ibu wisma enjoys spending her leisure time reading books and sometimes does yoga with her friends. She likes to travel to each part of Bali and around Indonesia.

Ibu Utami has fully participated in the development of the reading program at Dyatmika School. She believes that developing a reading culture and a love of reading amongst children is essential in providing them with insight into their own development and the world.

During her time as a teacher at Dyatmika, Ibu Utami has gained valuable experience as a writer and editor of graded books and children’s story books. The books that she wrote and developed are currently being used as books for reading programs in most public elementary schools in Indonesia. She is a speaker and a trainer in various reading development training programs for elementary school teachers nationally. She relishes such opportunities as these allow her to make a major contribution to the teaching and learning processes in classrooms beyond Dyatmika.

Reading novels and watching dramas are activities that she enjoys in her spare time and is a loving mother to her teenage son and daughter.

Pak Philip has a Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University – Teachers College, New York (USA), a Bachelor of Arts Degree in ‘Human Movement’ Studies from Cardiff Institute of Wales (UK) with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). He has teaching/coaching qualifications and expertise in all areas of sport and even once represented Guyana’s National Rugby Team in the Caribbean Rugby World Cup qualifying tournament.

Philip is also currently the chairman and coordinator of the Bali School Sports Association (BSSA) which has 10 member schools. He is a strong believer of ‘Sport for All’ and has been instrumental in encouraging participation in sport and driving the sporting success and achievements of Dyatmika School and Students during his time at Dyatmika. He also has a philosophy of children being Physically active, healthy and engaged in all kinds of sporting activities makes them positive ‘student’ athletes. Meaning that motivation, improvement and success in the sports hall, sports field, court, pool, gym should also help overcome challenges and improve focus, effort and success in the Classroom, thus a healthy body has a healthy and strong positive mind.

In his leisure time, Philip still enjoys being physically active by Running, Cycling and going to the gym. Although these activities are mostly non competitive nowadays, being active is generally part of keeping a healthy balanced routine that is essential in his everyday life.

Ibu Philippa has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the UK, after which she began her teaching career in Cornwall where she worked in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School for students with communication difficulties. This was a job that provided great challenges but huge rewards and led to her completing her SENCO qualification.

Ibu Philippa began her international teaching career in Lombok, Indonesia where she taught Year 5 and 6 students the Cambridge International curriculum as well as holding the position of SEN Coordinator for the past 6 years. Ibu Philippa loves Indonesia and all that it has to offer, including exploring the beautiful island of Bali.

Outside of the classroom, Ibu Philippa enjoys Muay Thai and yoga, as well as walks on the beach with her two dogs. She is looking forward to improving her Bahasa Indonesia as well as becoming a better cook!

Shela holds a Bachelor of English Language Education from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. She began her career through private tutoring and tuition before moving to Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant.

Besides the educational world, Shela has an insatiable interest in environmental activities. In 2018, she organised the annual event of ‘Bali Biggest Clean-Up’ by Bye-Bye Plastic Bags in Singaraja. Sometimes on the weekends, Shela volunteers for beach clean-up activities with Trash Hero. She also supports sustainable fashion by rewearing and repurposing clothes. For her balance and stability, she is active in yoga and meditation. She also loves listening to music and reading books.

Ibu Beci is originally from South Wales in the United Kingdom where she studied her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Studies at the University of South Wales. She then went on to study at the University of Wales Trinity St. David to complete her PGCE in Secondary Education for Computer Science/IT.

Over the last six years Ibu Beci has taught in schools across South Wales, the South West of England and more recently in Shenzhen, China. Ibu Beci has previously held the positions of Head of Department, Head of House and has recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider.

Outside of school you will find Ibu Beci being active at the gym to balance out her need to try out tasty food at restaurants. She also enjoys exploring, traveling, dance and musical theater.

As an educator and school counsellor, Pak Ridzki believes students’ academic development and personal wellbeing are two sides of the same coin that cannot be separated. Both qualities should be nurtured in balance for students to be the best version of themselves. He also sees every one of his students as an interesting individual with their own unique potential and way of growing up. His office is always open for students to share any stories.

During his spare time, Pak Ridzki enjoys volunteering in a nearby organisation for children with disabilities. He is also quite a food enthusiast, a hobby he shares with his wife, and together they are always hunting for different kinds of cuisines to try whenever they have time to do so.

Ibu Sarah was attracted to Dyatmika by its strong ethos to educate for a better world, its place within the local and international teaching community and the desire to teach well rounded students that have had a variety of learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. She has enjoyed seeing Dyatmika ‘come back to life’ after the pandemic and taking students on Duke of Edinburgh expeditions as well as organising international trips for her students.

In her spare time Ibu Sarah enjoys travelling both domestically and internationally, leading an active lifestyle attending Crossfit, hiking, kayaking and many other outdoor activities. She feels very fortunate to call Bali her home.

Outside of school, Pak Bowo enjoys traveling with his family, playing tennis, badminton and basketball.

Pak Will has a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership from the Outstanding Leaders Partnership (UK) and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics from Sheffield Hallam University (UK). He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Leicester (UK).

In his spare time Pak Will enjoys playing all types of sport but especially surfing and soccer. He also enjoys playing the guitar and watching his favourite soccer team, Middlesbrough.

Ibu Yuris began her teaching career by being an English teacher, followed by being an instructor at a mining company in Sulawesi. After Sulawesi, she moved to Kalimantan. In Kalimantan, she not only taught English but also Indonesian as a second language. Her interest in teaching Indonesian grew so she moved to Bali to join Dyatmika and started her career as an Indonesian teacher.

She loves singing, dancing, gardening, playing guitar, and going for a walk in her spare time. She also likes exploring this beautiful country and traveling overseas.
