Pak Jonathan is an experienced school leader with a passion and track record for leading educational settings that promote high academic standards. Jonathan has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Bath (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education (Honours) from the University of Exeter (UK). With a career spanning almost 30 years so far, he began his teaching career in the UK and then moved overseas to pursue teaching and leadership opportunities at prestigious international schools in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
In his spare time, Jonathan likes to lead an active and varied lifestyle with a range of interests. He enjoys surfing, cycling, tennis and swimming. Jon also enjoys listening to music and playing the guitar.

Nicholas Bridges
International Head of Primary and Early Years
Pak Nick is a dedicated educational leader who greatly values the Dyatmika community. His vision of education finds its foundations within the strengthening of relationships and through promoting a love of learning across the school community.

Nicholas has a masters degree in Educational Leadership and Management, a post graduate certificate of education in Primary education, a post graduate certificate of education in special educational needs and an academic background in child psychology. He began his teaching career within the British state school system, beginning at an inner city school in East London, then moving to Venezuela to teach internationally. He has always strived to provide his students with the chance of a better future than they ever felt was possible.
During his spare time, Nicholas continues to explore regions of Indonesia as well as trying to stay active and healthy, through various sports, hiking and surfing. He is continuing to learn Indonesian and has a good understanding of Spanish, from his time in South America.
Ayu Sugati
National Head of Primary and Early Years
Ibu Ayu was born in Singaraja and completed S1 education at FKIP UNUD Singaraja Language Studies Program and Indonesian Literature. She went on to study an Education Masters Program in Education Administration at Undiksha University.

Ibu Ayu joined Dyatmika School as a teacher when it first opened and was appointed as National Head of Primary and Early Years at Dyatmika in 2007.
Ibu Ayu has pioneered the Indonesian Children’s Literacy program at the Dyatmika School and often provides training to kindergarten and primary school teachers in Bali and its surroundings. In line with Dyatmika’s mission of being a role model school, Ibu Ayu has also led and presented reading programs at universities and other educational institutions in Indonesia as well as providing training on children’s books to Papua teachers. Ibu Ayu is the editor of an Indonesian children’s book and an author: one of the interactive storybooks she wrote was selected by an organisation called ‘Room to Read’ as a library reading book throughout Indonesia. She has also won competitions as an essay writer and continues to write reading books for children in Bahasa.
Ibu Ayu is dedicated to the success of Dyatmika school, as her many contributions over the years have shown. She is also passionate about promoting ‘Literacy for a better world’ for all children studying in Indonesia.
Ni Putu Martini
National Deputy Head
Ibu Martini was born and raised in Bali. She is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who believes that students will perform their best when they take ownership of their learning. She nurtures students within a learning environment where choices are provided and appreciated, clear objectives are presented and meaningful feedback is given.

Martini has a Masters in English Language Education from Ganesha University of Education and her teaching career spans more than 10 years in Primary and the Early Years. Martini started her teaching career by teaching in a bilingual primary school in Jimbaran before moving to Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant before her appointment as a Primary teacher. She took part in a teacher exchange program to Methodist Ladies College (Western Australia) in 2017 where she observed best practices in their Primary and Early Years programme. To strengthen her understanding on Early Years education, she recently took a basic short course on national early years education and considers continuous professional development an essential part of being a good teacher.
In her spare time, Martini enjoys listening to music and watching movies. She also loves to cook for her family and spend quality time with them at home.
Jonathan Cherry
International Head of High School
Pak Jon C’s career in education began in 2005; teaching and leading both in the UK, and internationally. Since becoming the International Head of High School at Dyatmika, Jon has brought about significant developments in Teaching and Learning, Extra Curricular provision, and community across the whole school.

He has been able to achieve this due to his acute understanding of the needs of his students and his ability to lead by example. He is most proud of the attitude to learning that students show on a day to day basis, developed through a team of teachers with outstanding attitude to their continual professional development.
Jon has a BSc in Finance, and a PostGraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Bristol. JonC has also successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship from UCL, London. Pak Jon is committed to result-driven academic excellence and believes in the symbiotic integration of students’ learning and their cultural environment. Bali has been his home for over a decade and his essence as a school leader has been centred around this wholesome approach; reflected in his work towards Dyatmika’s Learner Profile.
Jon enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He also likes to travel, and in his spare time, he is a keen cyclist and surfer.
Ketut Mahardika
National Head of high School
Pak Ketut is the National Head of School with more than 25 years of teaching experience. This ranges from playgroup to executive class at the level of university in various different subjects (Science, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Economics, Sport and also Religion). He believes that teaching in a fun & familiar environment for students is the best way to excavate their potential.

Pak Ketut gained his Master’s Degree in Education from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) in Singaraja and gained his Degree in pure Physics from Airlangga University Surabaya, one of the best universities in Indonesia. Upon graduating he began his teaching career in Surabaya before moving to Bali to work as a lecturer before he joined Sekolah Dyatmika.
Outside of school, he is very active in the community and in his spare time enjoys various different sports such as football, swimming and cycling.
Ida Ayu Kade Surya Utami (Ami)
Deputy Head of High School
Ibu Ami has a Degree in IT from a reputable university in Yogyakarta and a degree in Business Studies from Latrobe University, Bendigo, Victoria which allows her to be an experienced teacher in both fields. Before starting work at Dyatmika, Ibu Ami worked at two other international schools in Bali. Ibu Ami was pleased to be appointed as Deputy National Head of School since this allows her to implement ideas and strengthen her leadership skills.

She strongly believes that the establishment of positive relationships between all members of the community at the school maintains and promotes motivation in the teaching and learning process for both teachers and students.
Outside of school, Ibu Ami enjoys cooking, swimming, and reading. She also loves to take her kids to explore various outdoor activities. But the most precious moment for her is to get together in the comfort of the living room to just listen to her children’s stories.
A. A. Gede Agung Kusuma Yudha
Mathematics Teacher
After completing his study at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Indonesia) with a Bachelor of Mathematics Education, Gung Yudha started his professional career as a mathematics teacher at the SMK TI Bali Global and the Ganesha Operation Tutoring Institute in 2010. Two years working at two educational institutions have given him a wealth of experience in managing classes as well as preparing students for exams. As someone who likes challenges, Gung Yudha wanted to find new experiences by joining Dyatmika school as a mathematics teacher. As a teacher, Gung Yudha believes that the key to teaching success is building constructive relationships with students and colleagues.

The world of education is a very dynamic environment, a teacher must be able to adapt to the times. For this reason, Gung Yudha actively participates in professional development activities at every opportunity, both PD activities organised by foreign institutions and government institutions. Currently, Agung Yudha is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Research and Evaluation at the Ganesha University of Education (Indonesia) with a full scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Education.
Born and raised in Bali, Agung Yudha really appreciates the cultural heritage that exists in Bali. On the sidelines of teaching activities, Gung Yudha is actively involved in traditional activities. For him, the most important thing in life is to find balance physically and mentally. For this reason, he always takes the time to spend his free time travelling with his family, relaxing on the beach, or just spending time gardening at home.
Agnes Ikarini Damayanti

Ibu Agnes graduated in Physics Education at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta . She began her career as a Junior High School Teacher in Jakarta, before joining Dyatmika. Ibu Agnes enjoys opportunities to develop professionally and a highlight was joining a teacher exchange program in Melbourne Australia.
Ibu Agnes enjoys listening to music, singing, and watching movies. She also likes cooking and especially trying new recipes.
Agus Dita Saputra
Head of House and Economics Teacher
Pak Agus completed his Economics Education Bachelor’s Degree at Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Singaraja in 2011. In 2012 he went to East Nusa Tenggara to teach students in disadvantaged areas, it was a memorable experience followed by a year of teaching in East Nusa Tenggara.

In 2012 Pak Agus continued his studies by obtaining a Teacher Professional Education scholarship before commencing his career as an Economics teacher at Dyatmika School. He is very proud to be a part of Dyatmika School and its amazing community. As a teacher, Pak Agus believes that anything can be learned if we are open to being adaptable.

Ali Nall

Ibu Ali is an experienced primary teacher who is dedicated to helping her students achieve individual success and enjoyment from their time at school. She firmly believes that children flourish and are engaged at school when they feel safe, supported and motivated and she is committed to making this possible for all students in her care.

Ibu Ali has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Geography, a Masters Degree in Marine Environmental Protection and a postgraduate certificate of education. She qualified as a teacher in 2004 and has since taught primary-aged children from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of learning needs both in the UK and in Vietnam. Ibu Ali has also mentored student teachers wishing to join the teaching profession.
Ibu Ali enjoys activities that involve being on or in the water and has finally achieved a lifelong ambition to become a qualified diver since arriving in Bali. Travel is also a passion and she has been lucky enough to visit more than 30 countries around the world so far. Ali also enjoys walks on the beach with her adopted Bali dog, Bonnie, walking the rescue dogs at Bali Animal Welfare Association, trying new food and continues to try her best to learn Bahasa Indonesia.
Andy Charlton
Academic & Pastoral Leader and English Teacher
Andy is delighted to be part of the Dyatmika community, working in the Senior School as a Teacher of English and Academic and Pastoral Leader for Class 11 and 12.

Previously Andy has worked in the North East of England at a leading Catholic High school and in Asia at a top international school here in Indonesia. His previous positions include: a Leader of Teaching and Learning, Head of House and Head of English. Andy is a tech enthusiast, a Google Certified, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Digital Citizenship Educator and is keen to continually develop an innovative approach to transform teaching and learning.
Outside of school, Andy enjoys playing a range of sports and also following the trials and tribulations of Newcastle United Football Club. Andy enjoys travel and the opportunities this allows for experiencing different cultures.
Ben Guichard
International Class Teacher and Team Leader
Pak Ben is an experienced primary school teacher who believes strongly in giving every child the opportunity to succeed. He believes that a positive and rewarding school experience is essential for students to be successful in their studies and in the future.

Ben has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature from King’s College London (UK). Ben started teaching over a decade ago in East London, where he worked successfully towards providing all children access to a high quality education, regardless of their background. He taught at several schools in London, as well as providing early literature training for other professionals. During his career so far, Ben has taught every year group from playgroup to class 5.
Ben enjoys playing football and learning languages. He plays the bass guitar and occasionally records and performs music. Ben is currently learning how to paint.
Ben Wilson
Business/Economics Teacher
Pak Ben is originally from the north coast of Ireland, but he moved across the Irish Sea to further his studies. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Systems from the University of Edinburgh Napier, a PGCE from Cornwall SCITT and a Masters in International Education from the University of Sunderland.

Over the past decade of teaching, Pak Ben has taught in schools in Cornwall, England and Indonesia. Since 2015, he has been teaching IGCSEs and A Levels in ICT/Computer Science, Business and PE in Lombok. He was also the Vice Principal during his time in Lombok and has a proven track record for improving results, driving schools forward as well as nurturing the wellbeing of students.
Pak Ben is a keen runner and surfer but enjoys all sports, and played football to a high standard in Northern Ireland before he left to attend university.
Caroline Besterman (Caz)
Head of Music
Ibu Caz is from the UK, where she has been a teacher in high schools since 2005. She completed her degree at Cambridge University (Downing College), and her PGCE at Bristol University. She also holds an ABRSM Diploma (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).

Ibu Caz enjoys all aspects of music, whether performing, composing or listening. Ibu Caz plays the viola and the piano, and in the UK she was principal viola of a leading regional orchestra. Since 2015, Ibu Caz has worked as a grade examiner for the ABRSM. She is a published composer, whose songs based on famous poetry from the First World War have been performed by choirs internationally, and commissioned for large commemorative concerts. Ibu Caz loves working with students on their musical journey. Her aim is for all her students to enjoy music, whatever their musical background or level of ability, and to help them to reach their potential.
Outside of work, Ibu Caz is looking forward to getting to know the culture, language and cuisine of Bali. She enjoys playing music, going to the beach, bodyboarding, swimming and spending time with the family. Her three daughters attend Dyatmika High School.
Christian Pedersen
Head of Science - Physics Teacher
Pak Christian is a global nomad, formerly ‘third culture kid’, having lived in 10 countries. He is a Danish citizen with a mostly US education and two UK Degrees: aBSc (hons) in Physics from St. Andrews and a PGCE from Aberdeen. He has enjoyed teaching science and maths since joining the future teachers program in high school and decided to become a teacher while volunteering at a local secondary school in Fife, as part of the Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme.

Pak Christian has always appreciated the process of teaching and finds the relationships he builds with students, parents, and the local community to be both his greatest achievement and privilege, but there have been many other highlights in his career. At Sgoil Lionacleit, he led his students in a survey for the British Geological Society, collecting ash and debris in the Outer Hebrides, from the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland, which was evidenced in a published journal article. At King’s College Madrid, Christian led the robotics team for three years, winning the Madrid finals and competing on a national level in the First Lego League competition. While working at the British International School Cairo, he was able to bring the IB Physics class to CERN to tour the large hadron collider and antimatter factory.
Pak Christian loves the outdoors, often going camping and hiking with his dog, a local Kintamani. He has many hobbies and is always excited to learn different handcrafts or prepare new recipes, but mostly he is an avid reader and will spend hours enjoying non-fiction and sci-fi.
Claire Dockray
Head of Art
Ibu Claire is an experienced art teacher, having started her teaching career in Manchester in 2006. Prior to Dyatmika school, she taught GCSE art and the Creative Media Diploma in Salford for 6 years and the Middle Years Program and the International Baccalaureate in Switzerland also for 6 years. She was drawn to Bali for its rich cultural traditions and creativity.

Her educational philosophy is very student centered with the view that all students are capable of being creative and can express themselves as artists. In her classroom, she provides students opportunities to create and solve artistic problems and to develop their own ideas independently in an environment where students feel at ease to take creative risks. She is very proud of the artwork created by Dyatmika students and often shares this in the art instagram account. This year, she hosted the first (post Covid) Dyatmika art exhibition at Komaneka gallery. She often organises art trips and workshops for art students to experience working alongside professional artists and to see art first hand in a gallery setting.
When not at school, Ibu Claire enjoys creating her own art in the form of portrait paintings using mixed media and oil paint. She also enjoys learning about new technology and is currently completing an online course in digital drawing. She is keen to participate in local art workshops to further develop her artistic knowledge and practical skills.
Clara Dayinta
Bahasa Indonesia / Citizenship Teacher
Ibu Clara has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Widya Mandala Catholic University, Surabaya. While studying, she was the coordinator of the student executive board, a language laboratory assistant and a teaching assistant at her university.

Her professional life began as the secretary of the Director of the Institute of Tropical Disease, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya. While working as a secretary, she also volunteered to teach children in her neighbourhood area in collaboration with the Surabaya government. During that teaching period, Clara found that teaching children moral values helped build positive characters in the future. From this belief, she decided to be a teacher in Dyatmika and has not looked back ever since!
In her spare time, Clara enjoys listening to music, watching movies and cooking.

Ibu Dayu is a passionate Music Teaching Assistant. He believes that every student has a different learning style, and celebrates individuality and creativity.

Ibu Dayu is a graduate of Teacher Education from the IKIP PGRI University Denpasar (Bali). Before commencing her career at Dyatmika School, initially as one of the administrative staff.

Ibu Martha graduated with a Bachelor’s of International Primary Education from Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (Salatiga, Central Java) in 2018. She began her career as a teacher and has since taught in a number of schools and Sunday schools before joining Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant.
Ibu Martha enjoys listening to music and singing. She serves in her church community and is part of the choir group.
Dinia Suryandani

Having had a lifelong passion for education, Ibu Dinia enjoys assisting and helping the students grow and flourish in their Primary years.

Ibu Dinia holds a Masters Degree in 2022 from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. She has participated in some unique and engaging educational communities at multiple grade levels with a diverse student population. She believes every child brings his/her own great and unique potential.

Elizabeth Permatasari
Bahasa Indonesia Taeacher & ESL
Completing her study from Malang State University, East Java as a Bachelor in English Language Education, Elizabeth began her professional life as a secretary in the Heads of Domestic and International Relations office in a reputable university in Surabaya. In addition to putting her communications skills into practice, she gained extra expertise during this period which later would distinguish her in the teaching field.

Elizabeth started her career at Dyatmika as an English teacher for National curriculum and a Bahasa Indonesia teacher for Cambridge programmes. She has witnessed the growth of this beautiful school and its talented students. She cherishes the creative language projects that her students have produced in the form of short stories, poems, short movies, posters, essays, advertisements and many more. Elizabeth has a passion for writing and some of her pieces have won awards from Radar Bali Literary Awards (a poem), PT Rohto Laboratories Indonesia (a short story), Femina magazine (an essay), and Wanita Penulis Indonesia cab, Bali (a monologue). However, the proudest moments for her are when her students demonstrate improvements in their language proficiency and empower themselves as learners.
Her downtime includes drawing, listening to good music, sewing or simply strolling down the beach around Sanur then swimming with her pug – sometimes with her husband as well.
Erni Hastuti
National Class Teacher
Ibu Erni is a professional and dedicated teacher. She believes that good school communities create learning environments that encourage active engagement enabling students to develop an understanding of their own responsibility as learners. She believes that when learners have the power to take ownership of their learning process, they become agents of their own learning.

Ibu Erni Hastuti graduated from English Language Education of Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta. Over the course of her 18 years teaching experience, Erni has been fortunate to gain experience working with Foundation/Key stage 1 and 2 children and staff teams in a variety of schools. She began her teaching career as a teacher assistant in Yogyakarta International School before joining the Teachers Exchange Program funded by Australia Indonesia Institute. This gave her the opportunity to improve teaching skills and the development of curricula at five Australian primary schools, located in the South West region of Western Australia.
Ibu Erni loves literature and stories, especially children’s books. Ibu Erni Hastuti has written her own children’s books for Unicef, Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation and Room to Read. During her spare time, Erni likes to be active and healthy, through swimming and exercise. She enjoys learning about other cultures and languages and is currently exploring the Korean language and its culture.
Fitri Nur Indah Sari
Laboratory Assistant
Indah graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Banyuwangi State Polytechnic, majoring in livestock product processing technology. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree, Indah joined Dyatmika School as a laboratory assistant. She enjoys preparing tools and materials for science practicals, and is always ready to help students if they need anything related to the laboratory.

George Guilbert
Mathematics Teacher
Pak George is an experienced maths teacher who has taught in a variety of schools. For the last two years, he has been teaching in China and before that he taught in Bristol in the U.K.Pak George studied Mathematics at the University of Bristol, where he then went on to complete his PGCE. Pak George is passionate in ensuring that all students enjoy Mathematics and can make good progress.

Hana Kawab
Class 6 Teaching Assistant
Born into a mixed Javanese-Papuan family, Hana grew up in Tembagapura, Papua, and then moved to Central Java to pursue her studies. She has a Bachelor of Education (Language and Literature) from the Christian University of Satya Wacana (Indonesia). Hana started her teaching career as a volunteer English teacher for an orphanage in Java, before moving to Bali to work in tourism as a personal assistant, accountant and graphic designer. After a while she decided to move back into the field that she was most passionate about – education.

Prior to joining Dyatmika, Hana taught in another international school in Bali. She actively pursues professional development opportunities and a highlight was being one of the speakers at an educational seminar held in Bali.
Hana loves to read and write stories and poems. She is one of the authors of a collection of short stories entitled “I’m (Not) Okay” and a book of poetry entitled “Buku Untuk Dibaca di Kafe Kopi”. She also writes stories to be read on one of Papua’s radio stations. Besides that, Hana enjoys singing, playing the guitar and watching horror series.
Helen Briggs
Head of Mathematics
Ibu Helen is an experienced teacher of Mathematics, beginning her career in 2008 at various high schools in the Isle of Man, before moving to Dyatmika. She firmly believes that students benefit from being able to discuss their learning and strives to be an approachable teacher who plans and delivers lessons that students enjoy, whilst also feeling a sense of progression.

Her interest in teaching was sparked whilst teaching undergraduate students at the University of Manchester whilst working towards a PhD in Structural Fire Engineering. She realised that she much preferred the teaching over the research so decided to step away to retrain as a High School Mathematics teacher. Ibu Helen has a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering with Architecture (1st Class with Honours) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Mathematics), both from the University of Manchester.
When not at school Ibu Helen loves travelling, walking and eating in equal measure. She usually tries to combine these passions during the school holidays and can often be found sampling the local cuisine after a long walk in a new city, both in Indonesia and beyond. She especially loves visiting new places in Indonesia, so far she has visited 14 provinces and is looking forward to seeing more.
Heni Kusumawati
Art teaching assistant
Ibu Heni is an experienced teaching Assistant in Kindergarten. She believes learning should be fun so students enjoy coming to school each day.

Ibu Heni has a bachelor of Teacher Training and Education and also an additional English Teaching Program qualification. She has worked as a teacher in other schools in Surabaya and Bali, before joining Dyatmika as a Teaching Assistant.

Hindira Laxmi
Teaching Assistant
Ibu Hindira is a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who believes that experiential learning is key to a successful life. She has a genuine love of working with children and feels fortunate to be a member of the Dyatmika Family.

Originally from Bali, Ibu Hindira graduated from English Language Education at Undiksha University in Singaraja, Bali. She worked as a teacher in National Primary schools and as a private English teacher for adults and children before joining Dyatmika.
Ibu Hindira loves listening to music and writing stories for children. She has written two books for children in Papua Barat, which cooperated with UNICEF and LAI (Literasi Anak Indonesia Foundation). Hindira loves her family, especially spending time with her son and daughter.
I Gede Merta
Head of House and ICT Teacher
Pak Gede was born and raised in Buleleng – the northern part of Bali. Born and raised in Bali, Pak Dika obtained his undergraduate degree from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Indonesia) and his PGCEi from the University of Nottingham (UK). With over 10 years of teaching experience, Pak Dika is specialised in teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 IGCSE English Language. Experienced in supporting EAL learners, Pak Dika also runs an English support group and IELTS training. Apart from teaching, Pak Dika has led professional development training for Cambridge International and he is currently involved in teacher coaching and mentoring at Dyatmika.

In 2007, Pak Laurence was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Aberdeen. She was one of the martial arts athletes selected to represent Indonesia in the SEA games before she injured her ankle. She still does some martial arts coaching and plays futsal every week. She was the drummer of the one and only girl band in Bali during her school time. An experienced educator, Pak Max completed his Masters in Teaching and Learning in 2012 with a focus on cross-curricular learning experiences. As a teacher, he attempts to bring the learning experience to life in the classroom and enjoys the privilege of working in a school every day. After developing his middle leadership experience in his previous post, Pak Max has taken up his current role in which he has the pleasure of working with class 12 and 13 students on their career pathways and university applications. Dyatmika students are quite remarkable, and discovering their many talents and achievements outside of the academic context is the thing that he enjoys most about his job.
Outside of work Pak Max enjoys all sports and outdoor activities, from football to chasing Pak JonCon and Pak Jon C up the Balinese mountains on a bike. He lives in Sanur with his wife, Ibu Mani, who teaches English, and his two sons who also attend Dyatmika Primary school.

Ibu Utami has fully participated in the development of the reading program at Dyatmika School. She believes that developing a reading culture and a love of reading amongst children is essential in providing them with insight into their own development and the world.
During her time as a teacher at Dyatmika, Ibu Utami has gained valuable experience as a writer and editor of graded books and children’s story books. The books that she wrote and developed are currently being used as books for reading programs in most public elementary schools in Indonesia. She is a speaker and a trainer in various reading development training programs for elementary school teachers nationally. She relishes such opportunities as these allow her to make a major contribution to the teaching and learning processes in classrooms beyond Dyatmika.
Reading novels and watching dramas are activities that she enjoys in her spare time and is a loving mother to her teenage son and daughter.

Pak Philis was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from The University of Sheffield in 2000 and completed his PGCE a year later at the same institution. After completing his first two years of teaching in a comprehensive school in his hometown of Birmingham he was offered the opportunity to move to Sulawesi, Indonesia to run conservation and research expeditions for Sixth Form and University students. In 2006 he returned back to the classroom and back to Birmingham after securing a pastoral role in a very large secondary school. In 2013 he took his Geography and pastoral skills to Hanoi, Vietnam where he was based for 4 years before jumping at the chance to move to Bali and teach at Dyatmika where he now feels settled and ‘at home’.
In his spare time Pak Philis likes to get his hands dirty in the garden, enjoys long walks with his dog, Reggie, and enjoys movies. He is an adventurous traveller and always looks forward to his next adventure!

Pak Philip has a Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University – Teachers College, New York (USA), a Bachelor of Arts Degree in ‘Human Movement’ Studies from Cardiff Institute of Wales (UK) with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). He has teaching/coaching qualifications and expertise in all areas of sport and even once represented Guyana’s National Rugby Team in the Caribbean Rugby World Cup qualifying tournament.
Philip is also currently the chairman and coordinator of the Bali School Sports Association (BSSA) which has 10 member schools. He is a strong believer of ‘Sport for All’ and has been instrumental in encouraging participation in sport and driving the sporting success and achievements of Dyatmika School and Students during his time at Dyatmika. He also has a philosophy of children being Physically active, healthy and engaged in all kinds of sporting activities makes them positive ‘student’ athletes. Meaning that motivation, improvement and success in the sports hall, sports field, court, pool, gym should also help overcome challenges and improve focus, effort and success in the Classroom, thus a healthy body has a healthy and strong positive mind.
In his leisure time, Philip still enjoys being physically active by Running, Cycling and going to the gym. Although these activities are mostly non competitive nowadays, being active is generally part of keeping a healthy balanced routine that is essential in his everyday life.

Ibu Philippa began her international teaching career in Lombok, Indonesia where she taught Year 5 and 6 students the Cambridge International curriculum as well as holding the position of SEN Coordinator for the past 6 years.
