Class 10 Economics recently had the opportunity to tour Kevala Ceramics. As soon as we stepped into the factory we were impressed with the beautiful ceramics in the reception area. Here we met our guides and proceeded on a tour of the factory.<\/p>\n

The business currently employs around 150 people and the factory is capable of producing 20,000 individual units a month to be sold in domestic and foreign markets.<\/p>\n

We were able to observe the labour intensive process of crafting the ceramics from start to finish; producing the clay, creating pots on the wheel, decorating, glazing, and packaging the final products for delivery around the world.<\/p>\n

This was followed by a brief overview of the company\u2019s profile and a Q&A session with the marketing team and the business\u2019 owner, Ibu Wendy. We were particularly interested to learn how Kevala was affected by the pandemic and impressed with their zero waste program which is currently being implemented.<\/p>\n

The Year 10 Economics Class would like to thank Ibu Wendy and her team at Kevala for providing us with the opportunity to experience microeconomics in action.<\/p>\n
