Greetings and welcome to the Early Years Programme at Dyatmika. The Dyatmika Early Years is a safe, vibrant community spanning Playgroup to Kindergarten 2 (TK B). We understand that early childhood is a vital time in children’s learning and development. Our Early Years team view the opportunity to maximize the learning potential of all children as a privilege. We focus on nurturing a love of learning that will continue for the rest of their lives.
Our dynamic Early Years Programme provides each child with strong foundations to develop fundamental skills to become confident, creative individuals and successful learners. Our teachers work together to plan purposeful activities for the children. We understand that all students are individual and we plan their learning according to their needs. We have a beautiful outdoor space where learning can take place outside the classroom. Children are given a range of opportunities to explore and learn from the vast natural environment of Bali at our doorstep.

Each class is supported by highly skilled and experienced bilingual teachers and full-time teaching assistants, who use a holistic approach that encourages the development of language for young learners in both Indonesian and English. This is where the learning journey begins and we understand the best way for 3 year olds to learn is through purposeful play. Students learn pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills and discover their world through play, movement, music, art and craft. Students benefit from weekly visits to the library where they learn to borrow books and develop a love of reading. The programme in TK A is delivered by two bilingual Early Years teachers who are supported by two bilingual teaching assistants, where the instruction is in a balance of English and Indonesian. The English component uses the fun and engaging Jolly Phonics literacy programme, designed to give children foundation skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. The children are also involved in reading activities in both languages aimed at developing comprehension, speaking and listening skills.
Mathematics in TK A is a hands-on introduction to early numeracy. Integrated units at this level stimulate creativity and inquiring minds. Our programme includes field trips which enable children to discover the world beyond the classroom. Children in TK A have weekly specialist lessons in:
The TK B programme continues to build the child’s skill base. Learning in English includes a continuation of Jolly Phonics and an introduction to the Cambridge International Primary Programme, which provides a framework for language and Mathematics outcomes. The Cambridge programme is combined with the Indonesian National Curriculum to provide a stimulating learning experience. Learning in TK B also includes thematic integrated Science and Social Studies units which culminate in a field trip each term.
The international Early Years teacher and the Indonesian bilingual teacher plan and share the teaching so that children are learning equally in both languages. The class is supported by a qualified bilingual teaching assistant. TK B also has a buddy programme where children have the opportunity to connect and work together with students from the Primary School regularly. Children have weekly specialist lessons in:
Playgroup 8.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m.
TK A - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (half-day programme) or 2:15 p.m. (full-day programme)
TK B - 8.00 a.m. to 2.15 p.m.
Students are expected to arrive at school on time and are encouraged to be at school 15 minutes before class starts.
